New Kittens--5/22/2011
About Us
We are retiring after 45 years of breeding. During this time we bred Siamese, Orientals, Persians and Exotic Shorthairs.
Our CFA cattery registration is listed as August 3, 1966. We started with Siamese and then helped develop the Oriental Shorthairs and even bred some Persians and exotics.
We have given serious thought to why we have been breeding for so long and I would like to share some of these thoughts with you.
To us, breeding is a creative process. You work within a standard but you should have a vision in mind, the image of the perfect cat. That is the challenge.
There is tremendous joy in sharing the good characteristics that we have been able to get from other breeders. Breeding entails a co-operative relationship with other breeders. It is very satisfying to contribute to a breed and bring joy to other people. We love the Oriental Shorthair breed and hope that it will continue to grow long after we have retired from breeding.
In 2008, we had a new house built. It is designed to live with our animals. We have a large screened in porch where our stud, Kattilan Walkie Talkie spends his days and is visited by the resident girls. He has given us the type and personality that we have been trying to achieve. We can not thank our friend, Eeva Vuojolahti, enough for this wonderful boy.
